Extensive repairs carried out on a 'new to me', second hand vehicle purchased from a dealer after my car was involved in a hit and run incident whilst parked up overnight which resulted in it being deemed not economically viable to repair. For peace of mind, I took my newly purchased car to be checked over by my local mechanic who advised the car was not roadworthy, the main issues being brakes that were so badly worn all round, it would not pass an MOT and a significant oil leak. Upon approaching the dealer I bought the car from about this I was informed I would have to submit a full diagnostic report (something confirmed by the Citizen's Advice Bureau in relation to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as I had initially requested a full refund). Having not been in this situation before, I googed for local diagnostic garages and came across Carl Wigg Autoservices and spoke with April Wigg. April was extremely concerned when I relayed my story, and she discovered the car had had advisories for the brakes for the previous two MOTs! I was genuinely outraged that the other, large company could be selling vehicles that are not roadworthy. Furthermore, this was not the first time she had encountered this situation involving the other dealer and so she offered to take this upon herself to try to sort for me as she had a contact whom she could approach. I was so appreciative, it was such a relief to have someone who I could discuss these issues with, and who listened. Furthermore, April acknowledged the injustice that I was experiencing and genuinely wanted to help. April liaised with the other dealer and organised for them to undertake the extensive repairs, without me having to get involved which was a massive relief for me. Despite being fully booked up, the whole team at Carl Wigg Autoservices ensured my repairs were swiftly dealt with to ease further inconvenience. Carl Wigg Auto Services deserve 6/5 in all aspects of your rating system. Completely professional, approachable, considerate and extremely trustworthy. I shall be recommending them to everyone and will be using them from now on. The service provided has exceeded my expectations and I am proud to submit this statement to validate their accreditation to your Trusted Trader scheme.

Had clutch and flywheel fitted, busy family business but fitted me in which was appreciated. Original clutch lasted 110000 miles sadly replacement didn't last 12000 miles and only one year and 2weeks just out of warranty.

I really can't recommend these guys highly enough, I originally went in to check my exhaust they looked free of charge and advised me their was a hole in the exhaust. They were very accomidating and understanding of my situation. Once the work was done they kept me updated throughout.

I had an issue with a faulty boot sensor which prevented me from locking the car, as the car mistakenly thought the boot was always open. I was fearing that it could need wiring replaced or even a whole new boot handle which would have been expensive. Carl Wigg diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed it at a very reasonable price. I had the most wonderful experience with Carl Wigg Autoservices, I purchased a car for a high price, travelled home to wake the following morning to a floor full of oil from my new car! Called around monday morning and was recommended Carl Wigg by a family member who use Carl Wigg autoservices, so I called, and they managed to fit me in that afternoon even though they were already really busy! The ladies in the reception and the mechanics were absolutely amazing! So friendly, Supportive, informative, very honest with what needed doing, just all round amazing! They were very quick and efficient with getting all the parts etc and the work carried out on my vehicle! Bought a car April 2025, a month later sprung a major fuel leak. Contacted warranty and booked in with CarlWigg, Fast and friendly service, dealt with the warranty company for me all I had to do was pick up the car and paperwork once repaired. January 2024 I bought a used car and within 6 weeks discovered coolant loss with misfire. CarlWigg investigated, diagnosed and provided reports, as well as advice with how to deal with the business I bought from. Unfortunately didn't get far with the dealer but CarlWigg and team were helpful and honest, could have easily made more work from the car but kept my expenses minimal. I trust this business, and the people 100% to give honest advice and diagnostics, a rarity with many mechanics/garages trying to up sell, these guys don't need to they are kept busy enough with their strong local reputation for honest and fair work. My car is booked in for its service next week with them.

The staff were really friendly and clearly spent time giving my car a thorough inspection, they identified lots of issues that a previous AA inspection hadn't found and things which were not included as advisories on previous MOT's. Couldn't recommend this place any higher. Wonderful family run business who work very hard to keep their customers happy. I have been with them since I moved to Lowestoft about 3 years ago and they have been so good to me as I seem to have bad luck when it comes to cars. I often travel over 400 miles a week for work which after while builds up and can end up leading my little car to have the odd the mood swing and end up at the garage.

What a great family run business this has proven to be! As somebody who knows cars, I have never completely trusted garages, so I do not say that lightly. They replaced my gearbox and clutch and it drives beautifully once again. A superb job and came in under the estimate too! My car was taken here by the AA after the clutch went on it. They were polite and reassuring, and had my car fixed sooner than anticipated. The exhaust flexi pipe, which has been blowing for a number of years, apparently fell apart during the repair and they replaced that too.

I had the most wonderful experience with Carl Wigg Autoservices, I purchased a car for a high price, travelled home to wake the following morning to a floor full of oil from my new car! Called around monday morning and was recommended Carl Wigg by a family member who use Carl Wigg autoservices, so I called, and they managed to fit me in that afternoon even though they were already really busy! The ladies in the reception and the mechanics were absolutely amazing! So friendly, Supportive, informative, very honest with what needed doing, just all round amazing! They were very quick and efficient with getting all the parts etc and the work carried out on my vehicle! Spoke me through what i needed from the company i bought my car from, they even ended up speaking to the car company on my behalf and had the necessary work paid for by the car company due to me buying the car not even 24 hours prior to finding the major oil leak, I could not thank all of them enough for everything they did for me! They replaced the drive shafts and put a new tyre (plus wheel alignment) on my Volvo V40. They worked hard to source the parts promptly and updated me regularly on progress. With the wheel alignment, I received a diagnostic report before and after the work was done. My car now drives like a dream. Daughter drove up from London on Thursday evening and clutch went in car. Telephoned garage on the Friday and asked if anyway they could repair on the Saturday as daughter had to return to London on the Sunday. Such friendly and helpful service, they managed to fit us in and get it sorted.

1st rate service, never had a problem with them looking after my vechiles and never will, i will be back time and time again. Obviously this is a garage and there will be noise's made for whatever reason engines that may have to be run etc but that's what garages do.

We can't thank Carl & April enough for all their help, taking care of the issue our son had with his car. They are knowledgeable and friendly and do just as they say they will. CarlWigg Autoservices has gone above and beyond hehlping me with my car i bought faulty from a dealership, From initial contact they have offered great advice on dealing with not only the fault with the car, but the dealer i bought the car from. My fight with the original dealer continues now even 6 months after the purchase, my last visit to CarlWigg i booked in for diagnostics for further evidence to my claim of the same fault reocurring, not only did they not accept any payment for this they also wrote me a report stating the fault is the same as they saw 4 months ago to help strenghten my case. I have always had trust issues with garages and mechanics, i have been lied to in the past, overcharged, and dealt with generally uninterested so called proffesionals. CarlWigg is everything a local business should be, and will have my custom for years to come.

top garage.. my car went in for a oil filter housing and was changed with genuine parts.. when collected the car i took it home and relised a knocking noise (NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORK CARRIED OUT) and rung back and asked what to do, told me to bring it back and they would look at it straight away.
