Cars, people carriers and vans.

A Citroën is as likely to be a family car or a working van as a small hatchback, and each is asked to do something different. We service them to the same schedule and look harder at whatever the car is asked to carry.

When your Citroën needs a look.

Some of these are particular to Citroën and some to the engines it shares. Each one is worth a call before it gets worse.

  • Hard or bouncy ride

On a hydractive C5 a ride that turns harsh means the spheres have lost their charge. They wear out with age, like any damper.

  • Sinking when parked

A hydractive car that sits low overnight has a leak or a tired height corrector. Find it before the pump is worn out chasing it.

  • Parking brake warning

On the C4 Picasso and Grand Picasso the electric parking brake motor is a known fault and can leave the car stuck on or off.

  • AdBlue countdown

Miles to no start on a BlueHDi car or van. It is usually the heater or pump in the tank, and it needs booking in straight away.

  • Oil warning on a PureTech

Belt debris can block the oil pickup on the 1.2 petrol. Stop and call rather than driving on.

  • Clutch biting high

Common on high mileage Berlingos and Relays that spend their lives in town. It gets worse quickly once it starts.

Your Citroën warranty and its service record.

Under block exemption rules a Citroën can be serviced by an independent garage without touching the warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and the parts are of matching quality. Warranty repairs and recalls are paid for by Citroën and go to a dealer.

Citroën keeps its service history online. We add every visit to that record and give you a written copy, so the history is there in full whether or not the car still has its book.

No. Under block exemption rules a Citroën can be serviced by an independent garage without affecting the warranty, provided the schedule is followed and the parts are of matching quality. Warranty repairs and recalls are paid for by Citroën and go to a dealer.

Two things. The timing belt runs in oil, so the oil has to be the exact grade the engine is specified for and changed on time. And the belt wants inspecting at every service, because a worn one sheds debris into the oil long before it breaks. We do both and replace the belt with its tensioner when it is due.

Yes. The older C5 and C6 ride on hydraulic spheres that lose their charge with age, which makes the ride harsh or lets the car sink when it is parked. We test the spheres and the pump, replace what has failed and refill the system with the correct fluid.

Yes. Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay, serviced and repaired around your working week, with the AdBlue system checked on the BlueHDi diesels so a warning does not take the van off the road.
